Capsicum Bharwa

BRRRR…..Its geting cold going to the kitchen is  really boring.LaZiness has become my close friend and I feel like following her everywhere 🙂 .However ,with Mr Sid (my 4-year-old son) around I have to be on my toes as he never feels tired-questioning and talking are his so-called  best friend according to us.

Sid’s new interest is his food plate being colorful and decorated,hence my today’srecipe is based on his liking.Hope you guys like it.

2 medium-sized green peppers
2 medium-sized potatoes
3 tbsp vegetable oil
3/4 tsp cumin seeds

1/2 ginger garlic paste.

1 large onion finely chopped(optional)
1 green chilli finely chopped
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp raw mango powder
Salt to taste
DIRECTIONS


1.Wash the green peppers well and pat dry with paper towel.

2.Cut the top off  and remove all the seeds and pith and discard (keep the top).
3.Wash the potatoes , boil till soft, peel, mash roughly and keep aside for later use.
4.In a pan ,take 3 tbsp of cooking oil,add  cumin seeds and let it splutter ,add  green chillies and ginger garlic paste and fry .
5.Add  onion and fry till soft.
6. Add  the powdered spices and fry for 1 minute.

7.Add  mashed potato,salt and mix well

8. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring often.

9.In another pan,heat oil and fry the pepper till it is soft,place the peppers on a plate lined with paper towel to allow excess oil.

10.Fill each green pepper to the top with the mashed potato mix and serve.
